"Professional" Portraits

This morning, Todd suggested that we get the kids in to have their pictures taken "professionally." I guess my snapshots on the digital camera aren't awesome enough. So, I began searching for places that met my criteria.
1) Must be within a 2 mile radius of our home, seeing as how we would be walking there
2) Cost will not break the bank
3) Willing to work with kids under any circumstance

The closest place that had decent prices was Sears. So I scheduled an appointment for the kids at a time that I thought would be ideal. 4:30. They will have both had their long naps for the day, will have been fed and usually have a burst of energy until bed time.

We walked to the mall and got to the photo studio. They were playing "Cars", so I was happy that Connor was feeling comfortable and at home. I got the kids dolled up in their Easter outfits and we got them all posed and ready for the camera. Connor smiled for 1 shot!!!! We let him take a break and worked with Abi for a while so she could get some individual shots. One of which was naked, and she piddled all over their furry blanket.

Next up came the more casual photos, I got the kids changed, but Connor refused to sit or even go near the pedestal.

The evening ended with some really cute pictures of Abi and one single picture of the two of them together. I think it will be a while before we go and take "professional" shots again. Once I get the pics back, I'll post them.

Getting pictures taken is such a task, isn't it. It always takes SO long and everyone's all tired and grumpy and sweaty....It's such a process! I bet they are cute though! Excited to see them!

I wish I were a little more vocal about the backdrop and the positioning of the kids. Oh, well, chalk it up as experience for next time.
