Not Yet

Okay, so I didn't fill you all in on the last Dr.'s appointment. Maybe it was because I was too depressed to talk about it.

I have come to face reality and will now explain the outcome of the appointment. I had not dilated any further and I wasn't "ripe" enough that the Dr. thought stripping my membranes would do anything. So I took her advice and decided to wait it out. You know, like the pioneers had to.

What is so wrong with looking a little beyond my due date? I am not miserable (getting there...sleep is getting harder and harder to do) and there really is no rush in having Carly arrive. Actually, the longer she stays in, the healthier she'll be, right!?!

However, on the homefront there have been some good things going on.

On Saturday our ward had a "Super Saturday" and I got to make some handmade cards and these cute little tassles (I'll take some pics and most them later). I love doing crafts! I also made an invitation for our wards YW in Excellence program digitally...it's been a long time since I have had time to do that (I'll post a pic of that soon too). And I finished "New Moon." Time to move on to the next book (what a great way to bide my time while waiting this pregnancy out).

Connor has succesfully put himself to sleep for 5 nights in a row!!! It's gotten really cute, I will read him his story, say prayers and then push play on the cd player and tell him that I will check on him in 5 minutes. Usually he replies with "You going to go to the bathroom?" (I must do that a lot lately) or else "See you in 5 minutes." My favorite part is that he falls asleep more quickly than when I was sitting in his room or laying down with him! Yee-haw!!!

Todd is still plugging away at his dissertation. He gets frustrated not being further along than he is. Little things get him sidetracked...golf, kids, baseball games, naps. But, he is still putting in more time than he would have been able to had we stayed in Hawaii.

Abi is still my perfect sleeper and is coming out of her "clingy" phase. Some days are better than others. It sure helps having family around to take the kids for a minute or 60 when I need to calm my nerves. Abi tries them the most...girls!!! We're so moody (and she's so stubborn). Did I mention that she still has no desire to walk. Oh, she can do it. She just won't, especially when I am around.

I'm so glad you found something that works with Connor. I was worried about your sanity after the baby comes and trying to get everyone to sleep. Even though your babies always sleep so good!! I need you to teach me how to digital scrapbook. My enrichment leader asked me and my friend Sarah to display some scrapbooking stuff for our next enrichment. I told her that I don't scrapbook. And neither does Sarah. I wish I could borrow some of your stuff to fake it:)

I am so glad and happy you have needed this for a long time! And you know Miss Carley Bell will come when she is ready...and I am really proud of you for being so patient! Tell the kids Hello from Chloe, she misses them desperetly!

Good Luck with these last few days with your pregnancy. Patience is overrated though...thank goodness for Stephenie Meyer and her great books! Primary Music and a CD player has been the best investment in our house for getting Tre to sleep also. So glad it worked with Connor! Best wishes...can't wait to hear all about Carly!

I've been thinking about you and wondering when we'd get some fun news from you!! :) Hang in there, it sounds like you're having a great attitude and that the kids are cooperating for you.

I've got 2 stubborn girls! Whoa & they can be moody, but those great moments sure are worth it. I'm reading a new parenting book that I'm going to post about, but after you read Eclipse, you may like to look into it. It's called "How to Behave so Your Preschooler Will Too". My troubles lately are with my 3 year old. :) HOORAY for Connor putting himself to sleep. I personally think it's a tender mercy that you get to be in UT right now. I'm going to be there this weekend, & I'll try to call you.

I've been anxious to hear that you have a beautiful new daughter. Who knows, maybe you do by now. Kylie was late too and I know those days really start to drag on. With this pregnancy, I am trying to psych myself out that my due date is really February 16 instead of Feburary 7th. Maybe then I'll be pleasantly surprised when the baby shows up on time or early!!!!

Good luck!
